Playing

Sunday was so nice out. We went to the play area at Woodlawn Elementary School. Hayden had a great time on the slides. He is so brave and wants to do them by himself.

Some of Hayden's new things are saying pumpkin and also telling you what a sheep says. He is also working on 2 more teeth. It seems like he can't get one completely in before 2 more start in. This will make 14 teeth for him. My little monster...

Thankful

Something hit me today....Hayden is growing up! If you are a mother, you know what I'm taking about and what it feels like. On one hand I'm so happy that he is starting to do more things for himself and being so much fun. On the other, I want to just hold him and squeeze him back into a baby. I feel so fortunate and blessed to have such a wonderful, healthy, thriving child. He is by far the best of me and will be the best thing I have ever done. I tell Brian all the time that I feel so fortunate that I have the best of him and myself balled into one great person. There are so many people that aren't as fortunate as us. After all we've gone thru, we were blessed with a healthy child. I cannot thank God enough for that considering how much I worried throughout my pregnancy. I guess it's the "glass half empty" part of me.

If you ever are feeling frustrated with your children, you need to visit this site. I've been following this family for the past 30 days or so. Their story is absolutely heart-wrenching. God has definately given them the strength to live each day to the fullest. They even celebrate Eliot's birthday every day. Check out this site. It is absolutely amazing. I have prayed for this family many times. Please keep them in your prayers as they go thru each day with Eliot and all that his ailments bring to them.

Interesting

On the way back from a wedding last month we saw this license plate. It is definately how I'm feeling today now that it's Friday!!!

On the same subject....I've changed my hours at work to 7:30 - 4:30. Now that I'm on the interstate a few minutes earlier, I'm riding with a new set of cars/people. I saw this car yesterday and tried to take a picture with my phone but couldn't get a good detailed picture. This morning I had my camera and was ready. (I'm sure it is illegal to drive at 80 mph and try to take a picture.) This car is too adorable.

It's a VW bug with the "toy winder" on the trunk/hood. It actually spins while the car is moving. It was too cute. Like a little toy....

Daddy's Boy

Here lately, Hayden has become Daddy's boy which is great except that he wants to do everything Brian does. When we got home last night, Brian was mowing the yard. Hayden was definately not scared of the noise from the mower and wanted to ride with Brian. Hayden just kept waving to him until Brian stopped the mower so Hayden could come see him. Of course you know what happened next.

Brian had stopped the mower and cut it off so Hayden could "ride". Hayden immediately started trying to turn the wheel and playing with the knobs. They were too cute!
Happy Birthday Grace

On Sunday, we went to Grace's 2nd birthday party. Her birthday was actually September 28th but Sunday was too perfect for her party!

Birthday Girl

Here is Grace's momma (Lynnette) riding on Grace's birthday gift. She was trying to entice her into riding it herself.

Here they are riding together!

Of course, Hayden found something to play with other than toys. He just loved touching Joseph's trailor. Typical boy thing I guess.

The weather was great and everyone had a great time. Happy Birthday little Princess!!!!

Weekend
We had a great weekend! Friday night Hayden and I went to Target in search of birthday gifts for Grace's party on Sunday. While there, I scowered the $1 bins and found the most adorable foam crowns - 2 for $1. The pink one was perfect for Grace;s party and the yellow one for Hayden to play at home.

After his morning nap, we ran errands and went to Nonna's to play for a while. Here he is in the car with his "pimp hat."

His shirt says "I do all my own stunts" which is very appropriate for him.

Tampoline

Since Hayden likes to jump on my bed, I introduced him to Aunt Beth's trampoline at Nonna and Poppa's house. He LOVED it!

Weddings and Dancing

We went to Julie and Chase's wedding Saturday night and had a great time. Hayden actually sat thru the ceremony (very short ceremony) and had a great time at the reception. He danced with everyone. The DJ even played "Sponge Bob Square Pants" for him when he saw Hayden on the dance floor.

Durter
A year or so ago, Brian came home and told me the story of the "Durter". I asked him several times what he was saying b/c it seemed I didn't understand him. Come to find out, a lady that Brian works with has a son. One day her son asked her about a "durter". She apparently didn't understand either so he demonstrated. He took the card board tube to his mouth and said "durt derrrrr durrrrr"...I fell out laughing when Brian told the story.

I found a "durter" at our house on Monday and taught Hayden how to use it. Enjoy!!!

Dancin'

We had a great Labor Day weekend! I bought a new CD and was listening to it in the kitchen on Sunday when I noticed that Hayden was doing some sort of crazy movement. I grabbed my camera to catch his "moves". Needless to say, he dances like his father right now. Hopefully I'll be able to teach him the "cool moves" to impress the ladies! :)

Toot Toot

Hayden went to a party in his old room at daycare today. In his goodie bag were some fun treats that we played with tonight. He especially loved the horn and the glasses.

As you see, Hayden has a little "boo boo" on his eye. He had an "accident" at school today. Good thing for the glasses... :)

Mowing

Hayden loves to push his bubble mower around even thought it won't make bubbles. Brian wishes it actually cut the grass :)

Jumping

Video Hosting - Upload Video - Video Sharing

This is Hayden's favorite thing to do: jump on my bed! As you can see, the bed was not made which might have been a good thing with him all over it. Hope you enjoy!

P.S. Make sure you have sound so you can hear him laughing!

Update

It's been a while since we posted. On friday, Hayden went for his 15 month check-up. He had a great report and the doctor seemed really pleased with his development. He weighed 25 1/2 pounds and was 32 inches long. He is in the 50% for his weight and 75% for his height.

Some of his new words are yellow, more, nanna (banana), Elmo, Blue, shoes, and fishie. He is also starting to ramble strings of words that we cannot understand. The doctor said that was definately good even though we have no clue what he is saying.

Not Just for Laundry Anymore

Hayden has recently found out how much fun it is to play in some of our laundry baskets. He is pretty graceful at getting in and out also!

Aunt Beth
Here is Hayden and Aunt Beth. As you can see, Hayden just got out of the tub!

Zoo

We went to the Nashville Zoo on Friday. We had a great time even though it stormed. Luckily, we were able to stay dry and see a lot of animals.

Here is Hayden and Daddy on the Carousel. He like it at first but then got a little scared when the animals started going up and down.

The giraffes were beautiful.

Hayden absolutely loved the fish. He waved his little hand like a fish and would scream "fshhheeeee".

We had a great time. Hayden was asleep before we got out of the parking lot. We will definately go back when it's not as hot and rainy.
Helping Daddy

A few weeks ago we got a new floor for the living room - out goes the carpet! Hayden was a big help as you can see.

Thank you Nonna and Poppa!!!
