Shouldn't Every Store Have These?!?
The one of very few positive things about shopping at Kroger are these adorable baskets with the car in front. It is so much easier and faster doing the grocery shopping when you have a "driver"! He absolutely loves riding in there. He manages to drive both steering wheels (typical man) and honks the horn. He is very polite and says "hi" to EVERYONE in the store. He is very much the politician in the making. Remember: Vote Atkins!!!

Napping at Dinner

So it appears that our stimulating conversation at dinner last night bored the boy. Brian and I were talking and happened to look over at Hayden and he was fast asleep. His poor medicine makes him sleepy. This is by far the first time he has fallen asleep at the table.

We continued with our conversation but every few minutes, Brian would either cough loudly or clear his throat in an effort to wake Hayden up. Poor kid was getting his father's revenge for some of the times he's woken us up and I sent him upstairs to calm him down. Hayden would just sort of look at him and then close his eyes. Don't you like how he puts his hands behind his head. He looks so peaceful. He definately got the arm thing from his father!

I know this makes us bad parents but it was way to funny not to capture and share. I still giggle thinking about it.

Christmas Moose

Hayden had a good time playing with the Antler Headband last night. He would shake his head to hear the ornaments jingle. Needless to say, it was short-lived but I managed to snap a quick shot. Aren't those cheeks just to die for? I'm the lucky one that gets to kiss on them all the time :)
Tis the Season
We bought an artificial tree this year (with much disappointment) so that the new floor won't get ruined with a leaking tree stand or Hayden pulling it over. After only a few seconds of shopping, Hayden and I found the perfect tree. It is quite gorgeous!!! I put the tree up on Friday night so when Hayden got up on Saturday morning this is what he saw...

He kept saying "tree" and "pretty" and "lights" over and over. He was so excited to see it.

One Little Indian

Hayden's class made little indian headbands equipped with a feather. They are too cute!

Here's a short video of Hayden showing us what sound an indian makes...

18 Month Checkup

Hayden went for his 18 month checkup and got a good report as usual. He now weighs 26.2 lbs and is 33 inches tall. The doctor was very impressed with his speaking and knowledge of animals, sounds, and many other things he rambled off to her. Overall, he is growing and developing like a genius!!!

Contagious
There's something about a child's laughter that is contagious. Hope it brightens your day!

New Hat
Hayden has found a new hat - the Happy Meal Box! He puts it on his head and walks around saying "hat". It's too cute!

Happy 1st Birthday Addison
Addison had her first birthday party over the weekend. She was too cute and had a great time at her party. It was hard taking pictures so I only got a few. Here are some of her with her cake or what was left of it :)

Addison's mom and dad got her a great Radio Flyer Wagon. The kids had a GREAT time in it!

A plus side to the wagon is that both kids were still enough to eat some fruit and veggies!

Addison and her parents had a great birthday. It's amazing how fast these kids grow in a year. She is such a cutie and fun to play with. Happy Birthday little princess!!!!!!!

What Sisters are For

Beth and I are 4.5 years apart. We never really got along as kids due to our age difference and maturity levels (mom may disagree with that sometimes). Now, I can ask anything in the world of her and she would do it for me because she knows I would do the same for her.

When Hayden was born, Beth became a different person much like myself. No only was I now "mommy" but she became someone very special herself. You would think Hayden was her child most times. She loves him whole-heartedly. She was still in college while I was off on maternity leave. Like clock work, she would come by a few times a week to just hold him. I could leave him with her for a few hours and NEVER have to worry. She has such the motherly touch and will be great with her own children some day. I love her very much for the woman that she is becoming and also for the girl she already is.

This picture is from Hayden's "birth day". He was only a few minutes old and had already stolen her heart.

A little over a year later, this is them:

I'm not sure if I have mentioned it before, but she is a great photographer. She is great with kids and great with capturing moments when you are just being you! I often take advantage of her for Hayden's pictures and family pictures. Here's a little preview of some fun pictures taken this past weekend.

More Pictures

I love this one. It looks like he is chewing on a piece of hay.

Gotcha!!!!!

Here is Hayden with Uncle Justin and cousin Addison. Looks like they both want down to play!

Isn't he adorable!!!

This is one of my favorite pictures of me and Brian.

Fall

We got together with Justin, Lacey, and Addison yesterday at Grandmama and Granddaddy's house (Beverly and Don) and enjoyed some yummy chili and the kids playing outside. It was so beautiful. We couldn't have asked for better weather. Hayden and Addison were too cute together. They really enjoyed the leaves on the ground.

Here's the link to pictures. Enjoy!

Blue Diamonds, Yellow Stars

Apparently Hayden has picked up a few tricks of the trade. This past week we've been giving him Lucky Charms to take to school for breakfast. On Saturday, I noticed that he only eats the marshmellows out. I wonder where he got that from.

Yesterday after his long nap, I asked him if he was ready for lunch. As I was getting out the chicken nuggets, he goes to the pantry and gets the box of Lucky Charms. He takes the box and his juice and sits on the floor by his high chair. I went to the garage to get my camera out of the car and when I came back, this is what we had...

Poor dogs... They were staring in the back door (ignore the muddy door) and Whiskey was whining wanting to eat the mess. Hayden was nice enough to want to share (thru the door). (Yes, Hayden was still in his jammies at 2:00pm yesterday!!!)

Riding in Cars with Boys

When I got home a few days ago, Brian and Hayden were playing outside. Hayden immediately came to the car and wanted in. Brian put him in the front seat with me while we sat in the driveway. Isn't he just the cutest?!?!?!?

More Pumpkin Pictures

(What a sweet face! We were ready for the hayride.)

My handsome men!!!

Pumpkin Patch

We had a great time at the Patterson Place pumpkin patch. Brian's family owns it so it's always nice to catch up with them.

They have several animals in cages that you "see but don't touch". I think Hayden's favorite was the turkey. He and Brian had a good time "talking" to the turkey and getting it fired up.

(Playing on the tractors)

(Playing in the corn and seed)

(We are in the corn maze. This is my favorite picture. I love the way the sun shines down on them.)

Helping Daddy
I think he was there for moral support...

Playing

Sunday was so nice out. We went to the play area at Woodlawn Elementary School. Hayden had a great time on the slides. He is so brave and wants to do them by himself.

Some of Hayden's new things are saying pumpkin and also telling you what a sheep says. He is also working on 2 more teeth. It seems like he can't get one completely in before 2 more start in. This will make 14 teeth for him. My little monster...

Thankful

Something hit me today....Hayden is growing up! If you are a mother, you know what I'm taking about and what it feels like. On one hand I'm so happy that he is starting to do more things for himself and being so much fun. On the other, I want to just hold him and squeeze him back into a baby. I feel so fortunate and blessed to have such a wonderful, healthy, thriving child. He is by far the best of me and will be the best thing I have ever done. I tell Brian all the time that I feel so fortunate that I have the best of him and myself balled into one great person. There are so many people that aren't as fortunate as us. After all we've gone thru, we were blessed with a healthy child. I cannot thank God enough for that considering how much I worried throughout my pregnancy. I guess it's the "glass half empty" part of me.

If you ever are feeling frustrated with your children, you need to visit this site. I've been following this family for the past 30 days or so. Their story is absolutely heart-wrenching. God has definately given them the strength to live each day to the fullest. They even celebrate Eliot's birthday every day. Check out this site. It is absolutely amazing. I have prayed for this family many times. Please keep them in your prayers as they go thru each day with Eliot and all that his ailments bring to them.

Interesting

On the way back from a wedding last month we saw this license plate. It is definately how I'm feeling today now that it's Friday!!!

On the same subject....I've changed my hours at work to 7:30 - 4:30. Now that I'm on the interstate a few minutes earlier, I'm riding with a new set of cars/people. I saw this car yesterday and tried to take a picture with my phone but couldn't get a good detailed picture. This morning I had my camera and was ready. (I'm sure it is illegal to drive at 80 mph and try to take a picture.) This car is too adorable.

It's a VW bug with the "toy winder" on the trunk/hood. It actually spins while the car is moving. It was too cute. Like a little toy....

Daddy's Boy

Here lately, Hayden has become Daddy's boy which is great except that he wants to do everything Brian does. When we got home last night, Brian was mowing the yard. Hayden was definately not scared of the noise from the mower and wanted to ride with Brian. Hayden just kept waving to him until Brian stopped the mower so Hayden could come see him. Of course you know what happened next.

Brian had stopped the mower and cut it off so Hayden could "ride". Hayden immediately started trying to turn the wheel and playing with the knobs. They were too cute!
Happy Birthday Grace

On Sunday, we went to Grace's 2nd birthday party. Her birthday was actually September 28th but Sunday was too perfect for her party!

Birthday Girl

Here is Grace's momma (Lynnette) riding on Grace's birthday gift. She was trying to entice her into riding it herself.

Here they are riding together!

Of course, Hayden found something to play with other than toys. He just loved touching Joseph's trailor. Typical boy thing I guess.

The weather was great and everyone had a great time. Happy Birthday little Princess!!!!
